EXHIBITIONS AT YORKO GALLERY

"The Horse in Art"
a selection of work from members of the Society of Equestrian Artists, from 11 August to 2 September, Mon-Sat 10am-4pm. Free admission.

Over a hundred works by 22 of the UK's leading equestrian artists make up the first exhibition in Harrogate, by the Society of Equestrian Artists. This is a wonderful opportunity to see the work of sought-after artists whose paintings and sculptures can be found in national and international collections and many of whom regularly fulfil prestigious public and private commissions.

The exhibits cover a diverse range of equestrian subjects, with eloquent and lively depictions of racing thoroughbreds, coloured cobs, heavy horses, hunters and polo ponies, and in a wide variety of media, including oil, watercolour, pastels, bronze and wood and with limited edition etchings and woodcuts.

The artists exhibiting at Yorko Gallery are from the length and breadth of the country, which makes this show a focal point for all horse-lovers and in particular those with an interest in top quality equestrian art.

Priscilla Hann, “Dexter”, bronze sculpture
Dick Barton, “By a Nose”, mixed media
Malcolm Coward, “Lady in Red”, oil
