The number of older people in our society will grow and we all have a vested interest in achieving
the very best in services, support and opportunities. So how can you help?
The local Age Concerns - N. Yorkshire & York - provide a range of services for their residents including
Information & Advice; hospital discharge and social rehabilitation; social activities and day centres etc.
With increased pressure on funding however, we need to constantly look at how we can secure monies
to help us maintain, and develop, these much needed and appreciated services.
We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with YORKO Gallery in an exciting and novel way. We are
planning a Fundraising Exhibition at the YORKO Gallery, Harrogate from 15th July - 5th August 2006
with donations made to Age Concern from every sale made.
A number of professional artists will be exhibiting their work during the period, and a FREE ENTRY
to win a painting will be on offer to everyone attending the gallery.
We are hoping that as many people as possible will support the event and take the opportunity to,
not only become the owner of a piece of art, but also help raise valuable funds for the two local
Age Concern organisations. We are looking to use the funding raised to support day centres for older
people with mild / moderate depression in Ripon and York.
